Avery Tombs is a character mentioned in Tom Clancy's Elite Squad. He is the founder of Bastion, a security contracting Company that would later evolve into Umbra.
Biography[]
Tombs founded the security contracting company Bastion in 1997. Bastion served national governments in crisis zones around the world. Its early years were marked by highly successful operations featuring very limited collateral damage.
By 2016, Bastion created Umbra as a secret division of Bastion. The original intent of Umbra was to operate in the shadows, using violent and morally dubious techniques to obtain and deliver valuable Intel to Bastion without being associated to it. In the years that followed, Bastion spiraled out of control. In 2020, several elite international operatives were sent to arrest Tombs at Bastion's headquarters near Monument Valley, Arizona. Tombs was killed in the ensuing firefight.
